Testnet

A test version of a blockchain used by developers to experiment without risking real money.

Testnets are practice environments. They work exactly like the real blockchain but use fake tokens with no value. Developers use testnets to test their apps, and users sometimes use them to practice transactions before doing the real thing.

You can get free testnet tokens from "faucets" (websites that give them away). This is useful if you want to practice sending USDC or interacting with DeFi without risking real money.

As a regular user, you shouldn't need testnets. But if you accidentally connect your wallet to a testnet, your real balances won't show up. If your USDC seems to have disappeared, check that your wallet is connected to the correct mainnet.
