About USDC.org
An independent educational resource about USDC and stablecoins.
Our Mission
USDC.org exists for one reason: to make stablecoins less confusing for regular people.
Stablecoins are one of crypto's most practical innovations. A digital dollar you can send anywhere, anytime, for almost nothing. But most of the information out there is written for people who already understand crypto. We wanted to fix that.
We're a small team of crypto enthusiasts who've been in this space for years. We built USDC.org as an independent educational resource because we think everyone deserves clear, honest information about how digital dollars work. No jargon. No hype. Just the facts, explained simply.
What We Cover
Our guides walk you through the basics: what USDC actually is, whether it's safe, how to buy it, the best wallets for storing it, what you can do with it, and how it compares to other stablecoins like USDT and DAI.
We also provide live market data (supply figures, market cap history) pulled directly from public APIs, so you can see what's happening in real time instead of relying on outdated numbers.
Independence Disclaimer
Let's be crystal clear: USDC.org is not affiliated with Circle, Coinbase, or any stablecoin issuer. We don't work for them. We're not endorsed by them. We don't speak on their behalf.
Circle is the company that issues USDC. Coinbase is one of many platforms where you can buy it. We reference both frequently because it's impossible to explain USDC without mentioning them. But our editorial decisions are entirely our own.
The opinions and analysis on this site represent our independent assessment. When we recommend something, it's because we genuinely think it's useful, not because someone asked us to say it.
Editorial Standards
We hold ourselves to a straightforward editorial standard: be accurate, be clear, and be upfront about what we don't know.
Every guide goes through a review process before publication. We check claims against primary sources, flag areas of uncertainty, and update content when the landscape changes. If we get something wrong, we correct it.
We intentionally avoid sensationalism. You won't find price predictions, "to the moon" rhetoric, or fear-mongering here. Stablecoins are interesting enough on their own merits without the hype.
Fact-Checking Process
We take accuracy seriously. Our fact-checking process relies on primary sources whenever possible.
For claims about USDC's reserves and backing, we reference Circle's monthly transparency reports and attestations from their accounting firm. For regulatory information, we check FinCEN filings and official government sources directly. For market data and supply figures, we pull from on-chain data and established API providers like CoinGecko.
When we cite statistics (like the number of countries where USDC is available or total wallets holding USDC), we trace those numbers back to their origin. If a figure comes from a Circle press release, we say so. If it comes from on-chain analytics, we say that too.
Content is reviewed periodically and updated when material changes happen. Stablecoins and their regulatory environment evolve quickly, so we try to keep up. When a guide is updated, we note the date at the top.
How We're Funded
Transparency about money matters, especially on a site about money. Here's how USDC.org sustains itself.
We earn revenue through affiliate partnerships. When you buy USDC through our integrated Coinbase onramp, we may receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. Some pages also include affiliate links to products we recommend, like hardware wallets. If you click those links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission.
That's it. We don't run display ads. We don't sell your data. We don't accept payment for editorial coverage. The affiliate model lets us keep the site free and the content independent.
Affiliate relationships never influence what we write. If we recommend a product, it's because we think it's genuinely good. If a product has drawbacks, we mention them regardless of whether we have an affiliate relationship with the company.
