Offramp
A service that lets you convert cryptocurrency back into traditional money (fiat).
An offramp is how you turn crypto back into dollars in your bank account. When you sell USDC on Coinbase and withdraw to your bank, Coinbase is acting as an offramp.
Offramps typically require identity verification (KYC) since they involve moving money into the traditional banking system. Processing times vary: some services offer instant withdrawals, while bank transfers can take 1-3 business days.
Fees vary too. Selling USDC on a major exchange usually has minimal fees since it's trading at $1. The main cost is the withdrawal fee to your bank, which is often free for ACH transfers in the US.
