Using USDC on Circle Mint
Circle Mint is Circle's own platform for minting new USDC and redeeming USDC back to US dollars. When a business or institution deposits dollars with Circle through Circle Mint, new USDC is created. When they redeem USDC, it's burned and dollars are sent to their bank account. This is the primary on/off ramp for large USDC flows. Circle Mint requires business verification and is designed for institutional users, treasury management, payment companies, and fintech platforms rather than individual retail users. It offers API access for programmatic minting and redemption, making it the backbone for many USDC-powered services.
