How to convert POL to USDC: step by step

  1. 1

Choose a platform. On Polygon PoS, QuickSwap and Uniswap V3 offer POL/USDC pools. On Ethereum, you can swap on any major DEX. Coinbase, Kraken, and Binance support POL/USDC trading pairs.

  2. 2

If using a Polygon DEX, connect your wallet (MetaMask, Rabby, or Coinbase Wallet) to the Polygon PoS network. Ensure you have a small amount of POL for gas fees (typically under $0.01 per transaction).

  3. 3

Select POL as the input token and USDC as the output. On Polygon, make sure you are selecting native USDC (issued by Circle) rather than the older bridged USDC.e version.

  4. 4

Enter your swap amount and review the quote. Gas fees on Polygon are negligible (fractions of a cent). DEX fees are typically 0.05-0.3%.

  5. 5

Confirm the swap and sign the transaction. Polygon transactions confirm in approximately 2 seconds.

  6. 6

Your USDC is now in your wallet on Polygon. You can use it in Polygon DeFi, or bridge it to another chain via Circle's CCTP.

Frequently asked questions

POL is the upgraded version of MATIC. In September 2023, Polygon migrated the MATIC token to POL as part of the Polygon 2.0 roadmap. Most exchanges and wallets now display the token as POL, though some still use MATIC. The conversion was 1:1 and happened automatically for holders on Polygon PoS.
